Lincoln Sports Challenge
Lincoln Sports Challenge: a sports event where +200 Trojans will participate
In order to offer a fitness and skill challenge to the student population, Lincoln School has organized the Lincoln Sports Challenge. Students from the four schools: Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, and High School will participate in this virtual event.
This is an activity that aims to evaluate the learning of the last weeks in different sports such as athletics, basketball, soccer, and volleyball.
Manuel Mancía, Director of Athletics, explained that this event has three components: physical activity, ball skills test, and creative activity with the purpose of positively evaluating what has been done during this training time.
“The activity is oriented to all academic levels from preschool to 12th grade. This Sports Challenge consists of developing activities oriented to the coordination, physical and technical works that have been developed in the virtual process of this period ”, said Mancía.
Our Trojans will use devices such as iPads or computers to participate in the challenge. The coaches will evaluate the performance of 4 students simultaneously. At the end of the activity, certificates of participation will be given to recognize the effort and dedication of the students.
This event will take place next Monday, November 23, and Tuesday, November 24 during class hours in two blocks: 2:50 pm to 4:00 pm and from 4:10 pm to 5:30 pm as appropriate by section.
The World Health Organization (WHO) indicates that some of the benefits of physical activity are:
- Reduces the risk of hypertension, coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes, breast and colon cancer, depression, and falls.
- Improves bone and functional health.
- It is a key determinant of energy expenditure, essential for caloric balance and weight control.
